Microneedling in Edmonton
Microneedling at Tropicalaser in Edmonton uses fine needles to create controlled micro-channels that trigger collagen and elastin production smoothing acne scars, refining texture and pores, and firming skin. Standard microneedling starts at $250 (eyes) and $425 (face); RF microneedling with Voluderm starts at $400 (neck) and $500 (face). Most clients need 3–6 sessions.
Collagen Induction Therapy, Explained
Also called collagen induction therapy, microneedling works with your body’s own repair process. Each micro-channel signals the skin to produce fresh collagen and elastin the proteins that keep skin firm and smooth while also allowing serums to absorb far more effectively. Improvement is gradual and natural, building across a series and continuing for months afterward.
Standard Microneedling vs. RF Microneedling
We offer both, and the right choice depends on your concern.
Standard microneedling (eDermaStamp) creates the micro-channels mechanically. It’s excellent for texture, fine lines, mild-to-moderate acne scarring, and overall glow, with minimal downtime.
RF microneedling (Voluderm, on the Divine Pro platform) adds radiofrequency energy delivered through the needles into the deeper dermis. That heat drives significantly more collagen remodelling and skin tightening, making it the stronger option for skin laxity, deeper acne scars, and more advanced texture concerns. We also offer TriFractional resurfacing on the same platform for surface renewal.

What You Get
Approved by Health Canada
The eDermaStamp by Dermaroller® was the first device of its kind approved by Health Canada – and remains one of only a handful of approved devices.
Certified Medical-Grade Equipment
The eDermaStamp is ISO13485 certified (certified medical device), meeting all standards for medical-grade equipment in manufacturing, materials, sterile packaging and more.
Safe Micro-Needles.
The eDermaStamp micro-needles are atraumatic (non-traumatic), meaning they displace the skin during the puncture process, creating a micro-wound that seals within minutes of treatment. This leads to a less painful treatment.

Benefits of Microneedling
Microneedling is a minimally invasive skin treatment that activates your body’s natural repair mechanisms. It creates micro-injuries in the epidermis and dermis, which stimulate fibroblasts, increase collagen production, and improve overall skin integrity. This process leads to long-term skin health benefits with low risk and minimal downtime.
Enhances Collagen and Elastin ProductionBy triggering the wound healing response, microneedling boosts collagen and elastin synthesis. These structural proteins support firmer, more resilient skin over time.
Reduces Acne Scars, Wrinkles, and Stretch MarksMicroneedling breaks down damaged tissue and stimulates regeneration, improving the appearance of textured skin, fine lines, and acne scars. It also helps with skin pigmentation and uneven tone caused by active acne.
Improves Tone, Texture, and Skin LaxityThe treatment smooths uneven surfaces and supports better skin elasticity, making it suitable for loose skin, sun damage, and dull complexions.
Supports Non-Invasive Skin RejuvenationMicroneedling does not require surgery or harsh chemicals. It improves the skin’s structure using controlled needle stimulation, ideal for long-term rejuvenation.

Tropicalaser FAQ
Frequently Asked Questions
At Tropicalaser, standard microneedling is $250 for eyes and $425 for face, neck, or décolleté, with a package of three at $1,050 for the face. RF microneedling with Voluderm is $500 for the face and $400 for the neck, with a package of three at $1,400 for the face. Full pricing is published on our price list.
Most clients need 3–6 sessions spaced about 4 weeks apart, which is why we offer packages of three. Collagen remodelling is gradual, so improvement continues for weeks after each session and for months after the series. Deeper acne scarring generally needs more sessions than texture or fine lines.
Yes. Because microneedling works mechanically rather than by targeting pigment with light, it carries a lower risk of pigmentation issues than many lasers, making it a good option across skin tones. It isn’t suitable over active infections, active acne, or certain skin conditions, which we check beforehand.
RF microneedling adds radiofrequency heat delivered through the needles into deeper skin layers, driving substantially more collagen remodelling and tightening than needles alone. It’s worth the difference if your main concerns are skin laxity, sagging, or deeper acne scars. For texture, fine lines, and glow, standard microneedling is often enough. We’ll advise honestly at your consultation.
Downtime is minimal. Expect redness and a warm, tight feeling similar to a mild sunburn for 24–48 hours, sometimes with light flaking over the following days. Most people return to normal activities the next day and can wear makeup after 24 hours. RF microneedling may add a day of redness.
